The Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) will prepare you for work as a carer in a residential aged care facility. It will introduce you to all aspects of a carer’s role including personal care, wellbeing and assistance with daily activities.
This course is ideal for those who want to formalise their existing community work skills, and those who wish to work in aged care facilities and care for the elderly.

Practical Placement
Includes 120 hours industry placement to ensure you have the best opportunity to apply and further develop your skills in a workplace setting.
Occupational titles may include: Aged Care Worker, Community Support Worker, Care Assistant, Support Worker, Accommodation Support Worker, Community Care Worker, Personal Carer and Field Officer.

To be considered for enrolment in this program you must attend a pre-training interview.
At the interview we will assess your eligibility for government assistance with tuition fees and provide you with an individual statement of fees.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements although it is expected that students will have basic literacy and numeracy skills and moderate computer, internet and email skills. You will also need to demonstrate genuine compassion and empathy towards others.
This training program includes an additional industry placement component (minimum 120 hours) and you will need to have a satisfactory national police check (must be obtained by participant following acceptance into the course).
Students are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to commence any accredited training in Australia. Please see staff if you need any advice on this matter.
