Parent Pathways

Parent Pathways is a flexible, voluntary initiative designed to offer personal and financial assistance to eligible parents and carers of young children, helping them balance the demands of parenting with their educational and employment aspirations.

Parent Pathways program is available at 17 locations in the Ballarat and Barwon regions.

Djerriwarrh’s Key Commitments for Parent Pathways:

  • Your child’s well-being is our top priority.
  • We will ensure safe and welcoming spaces for you and your children.
  • You will be treated with fairness and respect.
  • You will be connected with a qualified Parent Mentor.
  • We will provide resources and financial support to help you reach your goals.

Eligibility for Parent Pathways: You may qualify for the Parent Pathways program if you:

  • Have a child under the age of 6 AND
  • Are currently unemployed AND
  • Reside in an area covered by Parent Pathways

Additionally, you must meet one of the following payment criteria provided by Services Australia/Centrelink:

  • Parenting Payment OR
  • Carer Payment OR
  • Special Benefit

If you do not receive one of these payments, you might still be eligible if you:

  • Are under 22 years old OR
  • Did not complete Year 12 or obtain a Year 12 qualification OR
  • Are a First Nations parent or carer
