Better Futures

Better Futures

Better Futures (formerly Springboard) provides support to young people in out of home care to reach their goals in transitioning from care.

This program supports young people aged between 16 and 21.

Better Futures provides flexible and tailored support to young people as they transition from out-of-home care to independence. The aim of Better Futures is to engage earlier with care leavers, supporting them to have an active voice in their transition planning. Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services is committed to improving life outcomes for young people living in or, leaving residential out-of-home care.

Further Information

A Better Futures Youth Worker provides secondary consultation to the care team, lending expertise to the transition planning process and providing individualised supports both in-care and post-care across a range of life areas including housing, health and wellbeing, education, employment, and community connections.

Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services work in a Consortium with Westgate Community Initiatives Group Inc (Lead Provider)  to deliver Better Futures to Melbourne’s Western and Brimbank Melton areas.
