Djerriwarrh offers a range of free groups for socialisation,

We offer a range of services, programs and facilities to enhance to help connect our local community and enhance well-being and build friendships.

Each term we host a wide range of social groups, workshops and events covering many different subjects, interests and skill levels.  We also offer a school holiday program at the end of each term.

CHRISTMAS HAM WITH A THAI TWIST

Surprise your loved ones with a Thai glazed ham recipe perfect for the holiday season. Discover the methods and ingredients commonly found in a traditional Thai Christmas celebration. Wrap up the session with a joyful festive gathering.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS

Celebrate the season with festive fun at our Christmas Craft workshops! Join us for two creative sessions where you'll craft personalised Christmas cards, gift tags, and gift bags. Choose from a variety of design options and let your imagination shine. Instructions and support will be provided to help you create beautiful handmade treasures.

A cooking workshop to make some fun Christmas cookies for you to take home. Ice and decorate your own cookies how you like. A fun and social activity with a touch of baking. These treats will make some excellent Christmas gifts. Bookings are essential

FREE ON-GOING GROUPS

Monthly Carer’s Morning Tea

Carers in Melton are invited to a monthly morning tea, to connect and feel supported by other carers. This monthly event is intended for carers to take some time out for themselves, and to attend without the person they care for.

LEARN FRENCH

Bonjour! Would you like to learn how to speak French? We run a free French class suited to beginners and intermediates on the basics of the French language. The classes run every Wednesday at 10am during the school term at 239 Station Road, Melton. Everyone welcome.

CHATTY CAFE EVENT

Looking for a friendly spot to chat and connect? The Chatty Café group, held at The Latin in Wallace Square, Melton – is open to all residents that may be looking for someone to share a coffee with. The Chatty Café is a great way to meet new people and be around others from your local area. Val, our lead volunteer, helps everyone feel welcome and included. Come in and have chat with a Neighbour.

THE MELTON SINGERS

If you are interested in community singing, no experience needed, come and join us on a Tuesday at Melton Central, for rehearsals, and occasional performances at local aged care centres. Beginners welcome, in this friendly and welcoming group.

GOOD THYMES GARDENING GROUP

Build new friendships and join us for plenty of laughs, as we share seeds, produce and new skills we have learnt along the way. We have informative talks, and a monthly Bunnings workshop. We use the principle methods of both organic and sustainable gardening practices, and have established a vegetable wicking bed system. We are a group that thrives on exchanged information, and welcome beginners and established gardeners who like to get their hands dirty. Contact us for more information, or just come along.

WOMENS SUPPORT GROUP

All women are welcome, in this safe and supportive group. Join us on a Monday at Melton Central, room 2 for a cuppa and a chat.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SUPPORT GROUP

A newly established peer support group for people, family and carers affected by multiple sclerosis. These fortnightly sessions are designed to provide support and connection in a safe and trusting space.

SOCIAL SCRABBLE

Do you like Scrabble? Drop in and try your luck at creating words with this classic board game. It’s a great way to keep your mind healthy and meet new people. All skill levels welcome! Tea and coffee provided.
