Workshops & groups

Djerriwarrh offers a range of services, programs and free groups for socialisation, and to help connect our local community and enhance well-being and build friendships.

Each term we host a wide range of social groups, workshops and events covering many different subjects, interests and skill levels.

We also offer a school holiday program at the end of each term.

Kombucha Workshop

Discover the art of kombucha in this fun and informative session. Learn how kombucha is made, explore the fermentation process, and enjoy tasting a variety of flavours. Taste of Thai Cooking Class: Authentic Thai Soup Duo – Tom Yum & Tom Kha

Kids Art Club

Unleash your child’s creativity in our fun-filled 5-week art class designed especially for kids! Each week, young artists will explore a new technique, building skills while letting their imaginations shine. Guided by a supportive instructor, children will experiment with colour, texture, and design in a relaxed and engaging environment. Will suit children aged 11 -16 years. All materials provided. Please bring along an art smock or some old clothes.

Melton Art Club

Let your creativity run wild in our two purpose-built art studios to indulge in painting, drawing, sculpting or whatever art project takes your fancy while having a cuppa and a chat. This social art club is purely a social group to share ideas and spend time with likeminded people. BYO art and craft project and materials. All artistic abilities welcome.

The Ladies Lounge – Women’s Social Group (50years +)

Looking to connect, relax and enjoy some great company? This friendly social group is for women aged 50+ who want to get out, have a laugh and make new friends. Each week is a chance to chat, play games, share ideas and enjoy good company — and the best part is, the group can help shape what activities you do together. Whether you’re new to the community or just looking for something fun and social, you’re warmly invited to join. Free to attend – just come along!

Monthly Carer’s Morning Tea

Carers in Melton are invited to a monthly morning tea, to connect and feel supported by other carers. This monthly event is intended for carers to take some time out for themselves, and to attend without the person they care for.

Looking for a friendly spot to chat and connect? The Chatty Café group, held at The Latin in Wallace Square, Melton – is open to all residents that may be looking for someone to share a coffee with. The Chatty Café is a great way to meet new people and be around others from your local area. Val, our lead volunteer, helps everyone feel welcome and included. Come in and have chat with a Neighbour.

GOOD THYMES GARDENING GROUP

Build new friendships and join us for plenty of laughs, as we share seeds, produce and new skills we have learnt along the way. We use the principal methods of both organic and sustainable gardening practices and have established a vegetable wicking bed system. We are a group that thrives on exchanged information, and welcome beginners and established gardeners who like to get their hands dirty.

The Women’s Support Group provides a mental health support program for local women of all ages. It is a space where women can come together to share their experiences, offer mutual support, and foster personal growth

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SUPPORT GROUP

A newly established peer support group for people, family and carers affected by multiple sclerosis. These fortnightly sessions are designed to provide support and connection in a safe and trusting space.
