Jayeeta Ukil is one of our fantastic Learn Local Trainers at Djerriwarrh Community & Education. She started with us in February this year, training the following English courses:
English for Everyone – Foundation
English for Everyone – Next Step
Fundamental Development and the 3Cs – Computer, Confidence, and Cultural Competency
We asked her three questions about what inspires her to teach, what students can expect and why it’s worth considering doing a Learn Local English course at Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services!

Q) What inspires you to teach?

A) As quoted by Rebecca Alber “I teach because there is an excitement and joy and suspense in the journey”. I feel absolute joy when I am teaching every day. Each student has many possibilities within themselves. I teach to help cultivate those possibilities into realities .It’s so gratifying when I see that each time the students are improving their language skills and taking a step forward.

Q) What should students expect to learn from your class?

A) When you choose to study English in my class you will expect to emerge from your study being able to read, speak, listen and write English with a certain amount of confidence and ability. You should expect to expand your vocabulary, expression, and pronunciation beyond the classroom.
This English course has been structured to improve and expand your skills in a logical way. Regular classes, practice sessions, tests, cultural competency activities are all designed to help you progress throughout the course.

Q) What would you tell a student who is considering taking a Learn Local English class?

A) If you want to be more confident in your speaking, reading, writing, or work on what makes a great sentence. If you want to grab positive attention, promote yourself, have a relaxed confidence or agreeable countenance. Then remember you earn this. Learn, get to the point and upskill yourself in a Learn Local English class
