Since announcing the project in December 2024, Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services has been making strong progress on the establishment of the Melton Suburban University Study Hub, supported by the Australian Government’s Suburban University Study Hubs Program.
The Study Hub will be located inside the Melton Library and Learning Hub and will provide a dedicated space for tertiary students from any university or higher education provider to access free Wi-Fi, quiet study areas, academic support, and more – all close to home.
We’re pleased to share that recruitment is underway, with applications now closed for two new Study Hub Advisor roles, who will provide day-to-day support to students and help build a welcoming, inclusive environment.
We’ve also welcomed Mr Shiv Shandil as the newly appointed Study Hub Manager. Shiv brings a wealth of experience in student engagement, digital service design and tertiary education and is already working closely with partners across the region to prepare the Hub for launch.
“Every student deserves access to a safe and supportive study environment, no matter where they live. The Study Hub is a step towards making that a reality in Melton” said Mr Shandil.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be finalising the Study Hub fit-out, onboarding staff, and preparing for the official launch. We look forward to welcoming students into the space soon and continuing to build strong partnerships that support learners in the Melton region. Stay connected with Djerriwarrh for more updates on this exciting initiative.
