For ParentsNext participant Laura, her journey to obtaining a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education came with a number of unforeseen hurdles. Though thanks to her hard work and determination, in 2021 she was able to obtain the qualification!
Whilst on the cusp of completing her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, Laura was handed the unforeseen news that the training centre she was attending had entered liquidation. This was a major setback for Laura in obtaining her qualification. “Ï was deflated after putting in so much effort” Laura said especially working a job and with a new baby at home.
Laura already had a busy day-to-day schedule prior and with the pressures of studying this news was less than ideal. However she persevered and joined Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services to complete the course.
Laura joined the class and unlike many other students in 2020 was able to complete her work placement despite ongoing Covid-19 restrictions. Laura says this “was a huge relief and joining Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services was the refresh I needed”.
Now that she has completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education she is working in the field and is looking to continue studying Education in the future.
We look forward to following Laura’s journey!
