On Tuesday 16 May Djerriwarrh hosted a road safety day for our Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) students. The City of Melton supported this event and allowed us to provide an in car simulator.
In their classes the students had been learning about community safety, in particular road safety. At the road safety day the students participated in road safety sessions presented by professionals from the local community including VicRoads, Melton Police, Melton Toyota and the Victims of Road Trauma Support Group. The students learned about a variety of topics – from looking after your mates to buying your first car.
The students got a look at what driving distractions are really like when they drove the in car simulator. Our VCAL students are well on the way to becoming safe P Plate drivers.
