Djerriwarrh offers a range of services, programs and free groups for socialisation, and to help connect our local community and enhance well-being and build friendships.

Each term we host a wide range of social groups, workshops and events covering many different subjects, interests and skill levels.

We also offer a school holiday program at the end of each term.

Art Class

Join us for a fun day of art! This School Holiday workshop will suit young people that enjoy being creative and are keen to have a go. Suited for ages 7-15 years

Kids aged 7 - 15 years can create festive crafts for Easter! All materials are provided, and our instructors will guide them every step of the way

Kids Games Day

Get creative and have some fun these school holidays with a range of different games and activities. Come join in the fun with STEM robotics, puzzles and games.

TERM 2 WORKSHOPS 2025

One Pot Wonders

In this class, we will be learning some easy, nutritious dishes that highlight the versatility of ingredients and the convenience of one-pot cooking. Targeting those of us that need something quick and easy, but nutritious, to put on the table.

Learn how to make Khao Soi, a delicious and filling curry noodle soup from Northern Thailand. Its vibrant, rich and full of flavour, with a laksa vibe.

Learn how to make an exciting Sri Lankan dish, as part of our Cultural Cooking Series. You will be cooking authentic Sri Lankan Pan Rolls (chicken or vegetarian options available). Enjoy and share your lunch together afterwards. Learn about the cultural significance and stories behind the recipes you are cooking, and share your lunch together afterwards.

Learn Korean with Rebekah, a native South Korean speaker passionate about teaching her language to locals. Bookings are required for this class.

Craft Circle

A time to learn new skills and make new friends. Crafts can include paper-crafts, needle-crafts, paper-mache, jewellery making, scrap-booking and much more!

Monthly Carer’s Morning Tea

Carers in Melton are invited to a monthly morning tea, to connect and feel supported by other carers. This monthly event is intended for carers to take some time out for themselves, and to attend without the person they care for.

Meet other local women, inspire and support each other, and develop new friendships. This group is an opportunity for local women to come together, and enjoy some time out.

CHATTY CAFE EVENT

Looking for a friendly spot to chat and connect? The Chatty Café group, held at The Latin in Wallace Square, Melton – is open to all residents that may be looking for someone to share a coffee with. The Chatty Café is a great way to meet new people and be around others from your local area. Val, our lead volunteer, helps everyone feel welcome and included. Come in and have chat with a Neighbour.

THE MELTON SINGERS

If you are interested in community singing, no experience needed, come and join us on a Tuesday at Melton Central, for rehearsals, and occasional performances at local aged care centres. Beginners welcome, in this friendly and welcoming group.

Produce Swaps

Do you grow your own fruits, vegetables, herbs, seedlings, or flowers? Are you open to exchanging surplus produce, connecting with fellow gardeners and engaging with your local community? Come along to our bi-monthly produce days, where you can interact with other local gardeners and trade your excess produce whilst having a cup of tea or coffee. Share tips, tricks and insights from your gardening experience and learn something new.

GOOD THYMES GARDENING GROUP

Build new friendships and join us for plenty of laughs, as we share seeds, produce and new skills we have learnt along the way. We use the principal methods of both organic and sustainable gardening practices and have established a vegetable wicking bed system. We are a group that thrives on exchanged information, and welcome beginners and established gardeners who like to get their hands dirty.

Women’s Support Group

The Women’s Support Group provides a mental health support program for local women of all ages. It is a space where women can come together to share their experiences, offer mutual support, and foster personal growth

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SUPPORT GROUP

A newly established peer support group for people, family and carers affected by multiple sclerosis. These fortnightly sessions are designed to provide support and connection in a safe and trusting space.
